Meet the Doctor

Nidsy Mejia Roque, MD

As a Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician, I work with children who may need extra support in areas like attention (ADHD), communication (speech and language delays), learning (including dyslexia), social development (autism), and behavior.

My goal is to help children grow into their best selves and to give families the tools and support they need to navigate daily challenges—whether at home, at school, or in the community.

My approach to care is both integrative and balanced.

“I don’t see natural strategies and medication as mutually exclusive, but as different tools and steps along each child’s journey.”

I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where I completed my medical degree with honors at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). After moving to the United States, I completed my residency in General Pediatrics at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Early in my training, I realized how meaningful it is to care for children with developmental and behavioral differences—not just because of the impact it has on the child, but also on their family and society as a whole. This passion led me to complete advanced fellowship training in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where I had the privilege of working closely with families and children with diverse needs.

Today, I carry that passion into my practice: I consider not only a child’s current challenges and needs, but also their nutrition, overall health, and environment. I provide guidance on lifestyle and natural interventions while also using modern science and medicine when they are needed.

I don’t see natural strategies and medication as mutually exclusive, but as different tools and steps along each child’s journey.

By combining the best of both worlds, I strive to offer families compassionate, evidence-based care that supports their child’s growth and helps them thrive.
